Monkey 47 Sloe Gin
While most sloe gins are from our fair shores, this one comes all the way from Germany. What do you get here that justifies such a price? A lot. It screams quality. Distilled in small batches once a year, using a stonking 47 botanicals, the gin is macerated for three months with wild-growing, handpicked sloe berries from the Black Forrest. The result is an almost chewy, red berry fruitiness, followed by a fresh, cooling, menthol-like finish, with nutty notes. This is one you should clear the afternoon for, find the comfiest arm chair you can and keep sipping and appreciating the different flavours that reveal themselves with each sip.
Monkey 47 Sloe Gin Pink Fizz
1 1/2 oz. Monkey 47 Sloe Gin
8 oz. Freshly juiced pink lady apples
2 oz. Soda water
Candied pink lady apple peel for garnish
Combine 1 1/2 oz. Of Monkey 47 Sloe Gin 4 oz. Pink lady freshly juiced apples 1/2 cup of ice in cocktail shaker, shake well. Pour into martini glass add splash of soda or 2 oz. Garnish with candided Pink lady apple peel.
